Brentwood West Fork White River Stream Stabilization


This project addressed approximately 1500 feet of instability along the West Fork of the White River near Brentwood, AR.  Natural Channel Design principles were used to develop a new channel alignment with the appropriate dimensions, slopes and patterns.  Toe-wood structures were used to stabilize meander bends.  A combination of brush mattresses and rock revetments were used along the newly constructed banks.  Approximately 11 rock grade control structures were installed to prevent channel downcutting and ensure long-term stability.  Oxbow Wetlands were created to generate fill material and create additional wetland habitat.
