Project Description

Completed Phase II of the Sager Creek project with the Illinois River Watershed Partnership and the City of Siloam Springs.  This phase restored a 150 foot reach of Sager Creek that was actively eroding with little bank protection.  The project was book-ended both upstream and downstream by a healthy channel with mature riparian vegetation.  The project included the installation of approximately 100 feet of toe-wood as well as the installation of log vein for grade control and aquatic habitat.  Native sod mats and native plantings were installed along the newly graded streambank along with coir erosion control matting to prevent erosion and provide long-term stability.
