Project Description
The Paint Rock River is a high-value ecological resource due to the unique habitats and species found there. Streambank erosion is the number one cause of habitat degradation on the Paint Rock. During assessment work, the Nature Conservancy identified several highly unstable sections of stream to focus restoration efforts. This project was identified and addressed one of the higher contributing streambanks. The restoration involved stabilizing approximately 300 ft of streambank with the use of longitudinal peaked toe stone with integrated root wads, bank grading and the installation of native sod mats.
