Summary
- Stabilized eroding streambanks near culturally significant land and a water quality monitoring site.
- Installed toe wood, rock structures, and revetments to protect the channel and surrounding area.
Project Description
The Wyandotte Nation had concerns regarding streambank erosion on a portion of Sycamore Creek near their ceremonial Powwow grounds. The eroding land has special meaning to the Wyandotte people and threatened a nearby permanent water quality monitoring station. The construction involved streambank stabilization with the installation of toe-wood, j-hook and grade control structures and rock revetments.
